This is a great story with interesting characters. Will is asked to solve another murder and save the Queen from danger. A great period piece.

Thank you Librarything for the opportunity to win and receive this book.

I requested The Twilight Queen because it was a historical mystery involving the real royal Fool of Henry V111.

The novel was interesting, by including Tudor phrases, customs and real people. From a historical stand point, our King's Fool was indeed an important part of Henry Vlll's court.

Twilight Queen is actually Book 2 of the King's Fool Mystery series. There did not seem to matter that the first was not read.

Will Somer is summoned by the Queen Ann Boylen. It seems that someone wants to desperately wants to defame the queen. A dead male is left in her rooms. Will is ordered to find out who he was and who killed him.

Throughout his investigation, he soon finds out the queen. is most definitely not a court favorite and even her subjects are not fans. This is historic fact.

Fool Will is a fan of both of the Royals and of the Princesses, Mary and Elizabeth. Already knowing the Queen's fate and the king's true personality, made the book less enjoyable for this reader. It was hard to see Henry V111 good qualities through his eyes.

Also, knowing the outcome of all the rest of his wives tells Mr I will not be reading more of the series.

Anyone interested in the Tudor Period and the Royal Court would still enjoy them.

I like noir and I think this qualified. A knight has a code of honor- though usually not the quirky , personal one you expect in noir. This knight, due to certain circumstances, qualifies as an anti-hero of sorts and while there were some bodice ripper type sentences that were hard to take, overall it was enjoyable

The Queen of the title is Anne Boleyn, just starting to lose King Henry's interest after conspicuously failing to provide a male heir, and she has so many enemies at court that when one of them leaves a dead musician in her chamber, she can't narrow down who might have done it without the help of Will Somers, the king's fool. Fascinating to see the court through the eyes of someone who is entitled by his position to address the king as Harry and the queen as Nan, and to tell them what he really thinks--but who is also entirely dependent on the king's good will, and may find out there's a limit to what Henry is willing to hear from him after he's already crossed the line. Fun, twisty story, and I for one did not see the solution coming; I'll have to look up the author's other work now.… (més)
