The library is arranged by Library of Congress classification number. For those cases where a Library of Congress call number is not discoverable, one has been assigned based on Library of Congress classes and subclasses, followed by the first three letters of the author’s last name and date of publication. N.D. indicates that no publication date was discoverable. If no author was discoverable, the first three letters of the State (e.g., Con for Connecticut, or publisher/agency, e.g., Agr the U.S. Department of Agriculture) has been used, followed by the date of publication. The Connecticut Forest & Park Association is the oldest private, non-profit conservation association in Connecticut. Our mission is to protect forests, parks, walking trails and open spaces for future generations by connecting people to the land. While we advocate and educate everyday, we are best known for our famous Blue-Blazed Hiking Trails, an 825 mile network of trails built and maintained by volunteers. Essentially, we connect people to the land in order to conserve Connecticut’s landscape.
