The Lady Elizabeth by Alison Weir

I am currently reading "The Lady Elizabeth" by Alison Weir. I love reading books by Alison Weir... this is my 3rd one. I read the one Eleanor of Aquaitaine (sp) and Innocent Traitor. I am liking this book as well. Anyone read this book?

I've read it. It was pretty good but I liked Innocent Traitor better.

So far I definitely like Innocent Trator best. What do you think of the situation with Elizabeth's secret pregnancy?

I thought it was interesting. I've read some nonfiction about Elizabeth and can see where the rumors came from that she was pregnant. That's why I like Alison Weir's novels: she doesn't take things too far.

Well, I just finished reading the book and I really did like the ending. Some parts of the book kind of seemed to drag on for me but overall I loved reading a book about Elizabeth's younger life.

I've been reading Philippa Gregory's books lately. They're not as good as Alison Weir's but they're still good for historical fiction.

I liked it a lot, Innocent Traitor is one of the next books on my list. And I agree with you Mallinje; Weir doesn't tend to take things too far. Gregory's books are a good drama read, but Weir tries to stick to the facts as much as possible and only fill in the blanks where needed... that's why I love a good historical fiction novel that has a note from the author in the last pages about what happened to the character and what things they changed.
