Emily loves to dance. She practices her dancing every chance she gets. When she joins a dance class she is disappointed to find that her three classmates aren’t very interested in dancing. Each of her classmates has a different interest: reading, art, and soccer. When Emily is the only one willing to practice for their recital, she is dejected. On the way home she gets an idea about how she can convince her classmates to dance. She stops at the candy store and buys each of the girls a bag of jellybeans. At dance practice the next day she gives them their treat and describes how jellybeans are different flavors, but they go great together. The girls each decide to use their own particular talent to help with their recital. They learn to dance and support each other happily. From then on they are known, collectively, as The Jellybeans. This book is suitable for children ages 3-7 years. ( )
