I received this in the Early Reviewer's program, and promptly forgot all about it. I was missing out! Although this is the third book in the series, I didn't notice (and in fact had no idea until I came here to write this review.) It stands alone quite happily. It has an interesting premise, some fascinating and well-developed characters (some of whom are "aliens" of a sort) a rather clever take on vampires and some non-heterosexual characters and relationships. I enjoyed it, but probably not everyone's cup of tea. I felt the pacing was good and plot development was perfectly acceptable as was the editing. I have been reading a lot of self-published and free eBooks recently so it's worthy of comment that this was well-edited and perfectly readable! Well worth a test drive. ( )

Forever is a well-written, intriguing book that is actually the third in Pati Nagle’s Immortal Saga series however not having read the previous two I felt no disadvantage in reading this one as a standalone. It tells the story of some immortal beings living amongst humans; some of which become affected by a disease and they then require human help to try and find a cure. It was an enjoyable read that contained many elements: sc-fi, murder mystery and inter-being relationships. ( )

I really enjoyed this book. It is an interesting premise to have alien beings living among us and not knowing about them. I found the characters intriguing, and sometimes complicated, but they were all interesting and well developed. Although I read this book first as I only found out afterwards that there are two in the series before it, I did not feel as if I had missed anything by not reading them in order. I look forward to the further adventures of Steven, as I would love to see the results of his experiments. The book is well written, the plot intriguing and well paced, and definitely ready for an exciting sequel. I look forward to reading that. That said, there are some homosexual scenes in the book, which some people might find offensive, but they are not terribly graphic and do not detract from the book. However, if you are offended by this, it is best to be warned. ( )

I received this from Library Thing to read and review. From the get-go, I will admit that this is not the type book I generally read, and I found this one difficult to get into. I do not care for books about beings other than human who prey on humans and I do not particularly enjoy reading about male relationships. This book was no different. I will admit I only got about one-third through the book before I stopped reading. Based on other reviews I have read, there is a definite audience out there. I am just not part of it. However, it was well written, and for that, I am giving it three stars. ( )

Forever is an intriguing story that has all of the elements to keep you hooked. It is murder mystery, a love story, and a science-fiction drama all wrapped into one. I am definitely going to read more of this author's work and was disappointed at the end of Forever because there was so much more I wanted to know. The different story lines left me invested in wanting to find a cure for the disease that affected such a graceful and intriguing group of people such as the Elven. It was nice to see, in detail, the relationships between two different human species. Often stories like this only highlight human weakness, but Nagle demonstrates how we can have attributes that are helpful to the survival of both. It was an enjoyable read. ( )
