„Waiting for the sky to fall“ is a very realistic and therefore also very depressing book. It is set in the 1980s. Katherine‘s parents run a shop, they keep their children very short. Katherine and Nicola have no friends, no money, no trendy clothes.
The book goes on about Katherine’s last summer as a school girl. Katherine has done her exam and is waiting for the results. She finds a boyfriend, but since her parents are so strict, she has to meet him in secret and she is all alone with her insecuritues.
As I said, a very realistic coming of age-novel, but for this reason ist is also very sad and depressing. ( )
