This is a collection of fourteen short stories that in some way involve a cat (see description for contents.) Generally, the cats are minor characters, and are animals. Lillian Jackson Braun's Madame Phloi being an exception. The stories are all well written with a variety of moods. Included are new stories and older tales by writers such as Dorothy L. Sayers and P. G. Wodehouse. The standout is the rather heart-rending "Little miracles" by Kristine Kathryn Rusch. Recommended for general mystery readers. ( )
