I have read and loved each succeeding Harry Starke novel more and more every time as each of the characters develop, grow, and continue to amaze me. As always, this one got better! A huge deal happens to Harry without him even knowing about it until it happens. His Dad loved it so much, he got sh*t faced! There were some fabulously hilarious moments in this one!

It starts off when Amanda's grandma passes away. At the attorney's office after the service, Amanda finds out that she has inherited a hotel in Maine, among other things. She convinces Harry to come along. The place ends up being a massive mansion that turned into a hotel in basically north of nowhere. It hasn't made money in years; not to mention that it is allegedly haunted.

Harry cannot get over the fact that Amanda believes the place is haunted. Yet, it is absolutely riotous when she scares him so bad he leaps several feet into the air. It is perfect payback for how he did it to her.

What is so great about each Harry Starke novel is its ability to be a completely stand-alone book. Mr. Howard introduces Harry and his life and business so that stand-alone readers know what Harry's past is about. However, he does it in such a brilliant way for serial readers to enjoy reading about it also.

Unlike all the previous books, this is not a case his detective agency, nor the people, are involved in. It is more about Amanda's inheritance, and Harry's dad's new 20+ million dollar used Gulf Stream! However, this may be one of the very best Harry Starke novels to date. You learn more about Harry's personality outside of work, and that he still has that incredibly hilarious sense of humor. I love Harry's dad, as well!! You will really enjoy this one.
