An account written by the head of the AP in Eastern Europe, who later worked for the Office of War Information in Turkey. A lot of very good stories about the personalities in the governments of the time -- frankly, many of them are too good to be true. (And one, about the death of Tsar Boris III of Bulgaria, is certainly not true.) I'm not sure how much faith I put in all his extended quotes. It should be noted that Parker later went on to write spy novels, and some of that genre leaks into this account (especially his fascination with blondes.) The last chapter of the book has some speculations as to the post-war settlement of the Balkans, which are quaint, to say the least. ( ) Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
