I really enjoyed this book. The author was estranged from his father for much of his life but got back into a relationship with him a couple of years before Damon Runyan dies. In this little book he tells the story of his parents' lives, and his childhood, and includes letters from his father during those last years. The author had just gotten involved in AA, so there is discussion of that...and a lot of personal feelings. The mother got unhappy & drank herself to death, and the sister was in an institution under her brother's care -- so there's lot of issues. Plus he talks about his father & his work. ( )
