Experience the adventurous, yet painful life of a young Dutch woman who couragously fought for the helpless Jews during WWII. ( ) Hanneke Ippisch was part of the Dutch Resistance movement during WWII and was imprisoned because of it. She tells her story in sparse vignettes. She begins with her childhood before the war and ends with her decision to leave for America after the war. At times these vignettes are about brief, isolated incidents, such as a paragraph or two about seeing the Hindenburg fly over head as a child. Other vignettes are more detailed, such as those describing her time in prison. Photographs, drawings, and documents from the time period complement the text. Her story is straight forward and stoic, but affecting nonetheless. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
