The illustrations are lovely but I feel like I will forget the book rather easily, despite the great message, that I try to remember everyday, especially when I feel more hopeless. (

David Litchfield is one of my favourite illustrators because of the cute and luminous artworks he creates for his own and other authors' stories. This picturebook follows a girl and a fox who travel through varied landscapes, face adversity and worries, get help from friends and come through to a bright morning. A lovely message of courage and hope with beautiful, colourful and light-filled illustrations. This book also makes nice use of the endpapers, transitioning from a grey to light-filled mountainscape to match the theme and progression of the story. I love it when authors/illustrators make full use of each part of the book. (
