Well written, thoughtful historical fiction, northwoods Minnesota, a coming of age in the 1920's story. Touches on issues a young woman growing up in a wealthy family may have questioned then like women's rights,Semitism, lynching, mental illness. Turns out that the story is inspired by real people in the Boundary Waters area during the 20's, names and stories aren't necessarily accurate, not were they meant to be. ( )
