Actually, my biggest problem is the conceit that the sea is wise and whispers its wisdom to the main character. Anyone who pays attention to history and current events knows that the only thing the sea whispers is, "I am coming for you. One at a time, or all at once, I will have you." There is no such thing as a tranquil sea, that is only a sea biding its time. And don't get me started on rivers and lakes. Beware the water! (Another project!
