There is something whimsical, funny and addictively enjoyable about all the Sardine stories. They are all ten pages, generally have the same formula: Sardine, Little Louie and Captain Yellow Shoulder foil some plot by Supermuscleman and Doc Kroc--usually ending up with Supermuscleman and Doc Kroc ending up in whatever trap they were planning for others. All of them have a similar sense of whimsy about the imaginary outer space universe they depict and fun-loving about the children and their mild disobedience. The artwork is great, my children find the hilarious, and there is a lot of humor aimed at a higher level as well. ( )
