These collection of poems would be great to read aloud before visiting a museum. Since they are about different exhibits it makes it more fun. The illustrations go together perfectly with each poem.

Behind the Museum Doors is about the wacky and cool things that children (and anyone) can learn about museums. This collection of poems focuses on the different things that can be featured in a museum, along with interesting and colorful illustrations of kids having fun in front of them. I love the concept of a poetry book about learning because it makes the act of going to a museum sound artistic and like an adventure instead of a time in which to gain more facts. ( )

What a wonderful poetry book. The poetry in this book is based on things that you would see in a museum. because of this, both history and culture is discussed in poetry and displayed with beautiful paintings (the artist used Acrylic paints, oil pastels and colored pencils).

I'm not all that into poetry, but I really enjoyed this book. The artwork as well as the focus of the poems worked very well together, each exhibit that was described made me want to go to a museum. I think this book would be great to have students read before and after a museum field trip. ( )
