Apunta't a LibraryThing per saber si aquest llibre et pot agradar. No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. I liked this one, I found it more exciting than the last. ( ) Zee has been left as a scapegoat by his own people, but Mercy is having none of it! *Trigger warning*, this book touches upon a darker theme Worldbuilding: Back in the world we know and love by now, the author manages to write all the scenes with such skill, I love it! Everything was clear and well detailed, perfect for staying immersed in the story. We learned a lot about the fae, which after book 2 gave some welcome insights. Character development: Sam or Adam, that is the choice Mercy has to make because both of them are pushing each other's buttons and something is going to blow if she doesn't choose soon... or well, one or the other is going to die. We learned some more about Zee and Uncle Mike, and some other interesting characters which I'm sure we will see in later instalments (yay). After reading the book, you realise what a strong and caring woman Mercy is. She fights for her friends and those she sees as her family. As always, all characters feel real and believable. I was happy we met more of the fae, but hopefully, next time we go back to the vamps, I missed Stefan :D Pacing and flow: What a ride... it felt a bit slower than the previous instalments, though there was always that sense of urgency beneath everything that went on. I read the book in one go, I just had to know. I mean, yes, I know there are more books, but you don't think about that while you're reading about everything that went down, trust me. Great balance between all the action and conversation. The book: The book was well written with no (noticeable) errors. There is sex described. The book is 287 pages long, spread over 13 chapters and told from Mercy's point of view. Final thoughts: This book had me in tears, the one scene with Ben... you'll understand when you get there. Why I gave this book after the first read 3 stars I don't know. Since I really liked it this second time around I changed it to 4 stars. In the first book the werewolves society was central to the story. In the second book the vampire society was central and now it is the turn of the fae society. And it was an interesting read. I love fairy tales and I really like it when I see traces of them in a story. It was very nicely done and in combination with the great characters made for a very good time with this book. Though Mercy Thompson can shift her shape into that of a coyote, her loyalty never wavers. So when her former boss and mentor, Zee, asks for her help, she's there for him. A series of murders has rocked a fae reservation, and Zee needs her unique gifts, namely her coyote sense of smell, to sniff out the killer. But when Zee is accused of murdering the suspect Mercy outed, he's left to rot behind bars by his own kind. Now it's up to Mercy to clear his name, whether he wants her to or not. Mercy's loyalty is under pressure from other directions, too. Werewolves are not known for their patience, and if Mercy can't decide between the two she cares for, Sam and Adam may make the choice for her... .No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
