Where Are You, Blue Kangaroo is about a young girl named Lily who loves her blue kangaroo so much but sometimes she can be forgetful. She takes blue kangaroo everywhere with her. She took blue kangaroo to the park and left him on the slide, when Lily was leaving she screamed, "Wait! Where are you, blue kangaroo?" Lily finds blue kangaroo. Same thing happens when Lily takes blue kangaroo on the bus. She forgets kangaroo on the bus and wonders where he is again. A nice lady finds Lily and returns blue kangaroo. Lily then brings blue kangaroo to the zoo and he ends up with the real kangaroos. Lily wonders once again where her little blue kangaroo is and luckily she finds him before he is torn to pieces. That night Lily tells blue kangaroo they will be going to seaside tomorrow and he is scared. He leaves the bed and hides himself so he can't be found. The next morning Lily is scared to death that she might've actually lost blue kangaroo for real this time. When she ends up finding blue kangaroo, she promises he will never leave her sight again. This shows that kids should take care of their toys and things they care about. We all lose things time to time but we should be extra careful with the things we treasure the most. This book was really adorable and it teaches a valuable lesson. The illustrations were done well. I know children will enjoy this book. The author has written a lot of books about Blue Kangaroo and it has been great to read. I will definitely have all her books on my shelf in the future. ( ) Where Are You, Blue Kangaroo by Emma Chichester Clark is about Lily who loves taking her favorite toy where ever she goes, but doesn't always remember to bring him home. Blue Kangaroo, though, is getting frustrated, thinking she might not return someday. So while at the zoo, Blue Kangaroo decides he might as well just stay put and find a new home with the local kangaroos, even though they aren't blue. Although my daughter didn't take her favorite toys around town, she did care for a pretend foster animal, a stuffed tuxedo cat named Taco. He was part of the SPCA summer camp. Children who lose track of their toy fosters, will have to look for them in the "pound" (a box) and write an apology for their carelessness. Basically, they don't want these children to grow up to be pet owners who lose their pets for irresponsible actions. Now in the case of Blue Kangaroo, his sudden ability to move about the zoo on his own accord seemed a bit, well, out of the blue. It's like the book can't decide if this scene is the climax or the punchline. Lily is best friends with Blue Kangaroo. She takes him everywhere she goes, but lately she has been forgetting him. She forgot him on the slide, on the bus, and at the zoo. Blue Kangaroo always waits for Lily to find him, and with the help of strangers she always does. One night, Blue Kangaroo wanders off in the house. Lily looks for him everywhere with the help of her family but he is nowhere to be found. Finally, she finds him in the pocket of her robe on the back of her bedroom door. She learned to never let him out of her sight again. I would read this book to pre-school through 1st grade students. It would be a good book to help the realize they need to keep track of things that are important to them. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
