Metz skriver att han vill redogöra för verkliga livsöden, till skillnad från de romantiserade som kommit i omlopp, dels genom Hollywoods försyn, men dels också för att huvudpersonerna själva skarvat mer än lovligt i sina respektive biografier. Men författarens ambition går så gott som helt förlorad, och snarare späs myterna på (även om de är sanna). Och det är ju dessa myter som i förstone gör det intressanta tt läsa om dessa "outlaws", eller hur? skulle allt bara beskrivas som det var (oftast fyllehandlingar) skulle få fascineras, tror jag. (
