I really enjoyed this book. I thought that it was well written and researched. It was well organized and easy to follow for those who may not know much about jazz or the history of jazz. Though there weren't a lot of pictures, they helped to put a face on the many famous jazz artists that came up in the book. I also enjoyed reading about Ella's manager who fought to get her and her band mates to be treated fairly, whether they were in the South or abroad. I would definitely try another biography in this series. ( )
