I really wanted to like this cookbook, but the recipes (to me) were just horrible. Nothing tasted as I expected it to, and I was quite disappointed. I don’t get the hype at all. I went in with a lot of optimism, but I’ve found far better recipes on Allrecipes and the like. ( ) Ray, Rachel. (2008). Yum-o The Family Cookbook. New York: Clarkson Potter. This cookbook is designed to help families cook food that is fun and full of healthy ingredients. The book seemed to be broken down into the following categories: breakfasts, lunch box & snack ideas, quick meals, and dinner time. Although I have not made any of the food from the cookbook yet, most of the recipes seem fairly simple, with few ingredients. Each recipe also explains what exactly the "itty bitties" can do since this is a cookbook that encourages parents to cook with their children. The book includes large, color photographs of the food and a large index at the back. Overall, it appears to be a good cookbook, and the idea of cooking with family is nice, I'm just not sure if all of the recipes will really appeal to the younger crowd.
