Gain an understanding of the strained relationship between the Roman and Celtic churches and the transition from paganism to Christianity. Meet captivating spiritual heroes and heroines, including St. Brigid, the epitome of kindness and charity; the royal martyr St. Doged Frenin, who died defending his land and family; St. Helen Luyddog, the spiritual protectress of travelers; and; of course, the most famous of all, St. Patrick, patron saint of Ireland. This exquisite guide to the lives and lore of national heroes and local legends is at the same time a fascinating journeyinto the past and a celebration of the enduring legacy of the Celtic saints.… (més)

Has some beautiful stained glass illustrations and some sculpture, but most of the illustrations are poorly credited. The manuscript examples used in the book are not listed at all. There is no bibliography. Interesting in that it gives a brief glimpse into the lives of Celtic saints for the non-catholic. ( )
