( ) I liked this book because of the use of language and the illustrations. The language in the story plays with words, mixing them around and using words in fun ways. The illustrations in the story were detailed using a variety of color hue's every page to show that objects were not a solid color. This added almost a 3D effect to the book for me. The book was very appealing because of all of the pictures and will grab childrens attention. The big idea of the story was to show what a day in the life of an otter family entails. Beautiful alliterations and onomatopoeia marking a melodious rhythm. This contemporary realistic fiction, tells the story of a little otter who wants to become independent, and explore, but he realize mother and father otter were right when warning him about the dangers of other big creatures out there, despite all the things he can now do on his own. Interesting and expressive water color illustrations with a touch of pen and ink, to capture the attention of young readers keen to infer, predict and navigate through the typical elements of a story. The perfect book to share with my students at the Oregon Coast! Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
