The Best Nest, by P. D. Eastman, is a fictional picture book intended for Kindergarten to second grade. In The Best Nest, Mr. and Mrs. Bird try to find a nest that is better than theirs. In the end, they learn that their nest is the best nest of all the nests. P.D. Eastman's use of rhyme and the illustrations make this picture book lovable to early elementary students. I enjoyed this book as a student and I enjoyed rereading it. I would include this book in a class library. There are many activities that can be done with this picture book. Also, it shows students to be content with what they have, a valuable life lesson. ( )

The Best Nest is a fictional picture book. This book is about a famliy who is unhappy with their nest and they go searching for a new one. They eventually realize that their original nest is the best nest. This book teaches children that what you have is great. I would use this book in my classroom and I would recommend it for grades k-2nd. ( )
