This is Mills & Boon, of course they can. I liked the story, I liked how he cares for her, but sometimes I think they put themselves in too much peril. Some webcams or security videos could have dealt with some of the issues quite quickly.
A Soldier's Homecoming by Rachel Lee was an altogether more interesting read. Ethan Parish, Major is picked up on the road by deputy Constance Halloran. He's about to be discharged from the army on medical grounds and she's about to find out the difference between a honourable man and her ex-husband. This one was somewhat predictable but also heartwarming and an engaging read. This is the second Rachel Lee I've read and I'm going to hunt up more. ( )
