An intelligent, enthusiastic and amusing analysis of a classic album with excerpts from interviews with members of the band and their contemporaries that enlighten rather than obfuscate, and give a fair impression of the UK music scene in the late 1980s. Each track is given a chapter to itself, and it's a rewarding experience to listen to each track after reading its chapter especially if, like me, you don't normally pay much attention to lyrics. The Stone Roses may have only had one great album in them, but after reading this, you'll be glad they came our way at all. It has certainly made me want to listen to the album more often.
