The thing about reading hiatuses isn’t the reason that started it all, nor the amount of time it lasted, but the book that is going to end it. Torched was that book for me. I haven’t picked up a book in 2 months (which feels more like a century) and nothing could lift my spirits up or motivate me to read, My GR feed was filled with all my friends reading book after another and it still couldn’t help me. And then, a bright Turquoise cover and a heart made with matches grabbed my attention and I thought: "hmm this looks interesting". Little did I know that my heart is going to have the time of its life. I never carried a book everywhere with me so I cannot miss a single thing. Even while driving. DRIVING!! (picking it up at red lights and stops of course). That's how much I loved Torched. Funny, amazing, delicious, sexy, brilliant... I just want to hug Paxton this book and never let it go. It had its moments, I admit.
Mostly though? Better books out there. (
