Mac and Devon’s story is one packed full of heart, emotion, suspense, and so much more. Mac will steal your heart even with his grumpy demeanor because underneath all that is a man with a heart of gold and so much to offer and Devon sees this in him. She doesn’t see an injured man that struggles day to day and she doesn’t pity him, she truly is intrigued by the guy she shows her glimpses of and that’s who she falls for. Mac was injured while overseas while being a brave soldier, but now at home he suffers daily with the pain that was left behind. He doesn’t want to be around people and keeps to himself until the day he meets Devon, there is something about her that brings him out of his shell. He is overprotective and cares deeply but is very insecure of the scars that were left behind, but Devon is determined to get him to open up to her. With everything that is going on surrounding Devon’s bakery Mac wants to protect and in order to do so he is trying to do what’s best for him and his pain, but will he let it get the best of him or is he willing to fight for what he feels for Devon? This story may have been a quick read but the heart of it was emotionally beautiful and I devoured every second of these two. ( ) "Everything can be fixed... if you try hard enough." This was a lovely short story, filled with all of the elements that Patricia Eddy weaves so well - broken heros, strong and independent women, and the ultimate realization that scars don't have to be barriers to love. "I see you, Mac. And I'm not running." I loved Mac. Gruff, lonely, unable to wrap his head around the idea that the walls he builds are a torture of his own making. Devan manages to rattle him enough - with wits and coffee - to break through those roadblocks, to lead to a very satisfying, sexy end. The romance and action scattered throughout made this a very enjoyable quick read, and I'd highly recommend it. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya

Devan Windsom has a problem. Someone's trying to scare her into selling her coffee shop, Artist's Grind, only weeks before Christmas. But Devan doesn't scare easily. The shop is her life, and she's proud of her coffee and the locally-made baubles she sells. Mac Fergerson leads a solitary life - the only one he wants after being maimed on his last tour of duty. Unwilling to get close to anyone, he can't help his interest when he walks by Artist's Grind and sees the curvy, irreverent brunette cleaning graffiti from her shop window. When the sparks start flying, will Mac turn tail and run? Or will he stop hiding from the world and take a chance at something special this Christmas? No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
