I had conflicting feelings on Asher a lot of the time. I think that he was a knob a lot of the time, but I think that down deep he had actual human feelings in there somewhere. I don't know how much is an artifact of his prison time and how much is his personality. It could also be that his fixation on vengeance could make him more knob-ish as well.
I like Charlee's fight and fire. I think that it definitely stands her in good stead. I don't blame her for wanting to distance herself from her father and his activities. It can't be easy to handle everything.
I feel like we get to know Asher better than we do Charlee, even though it's a dual POV book. I think it works here. (
