Apunta't a LibraryThing per saber si aquest llibre et pot agradar. No hi ha cap discussió a Converses sobre aquesta obra. How to word this? Sebenarnya bingung ingin menuliskannya seperti apa. Terutama karakter Rory. Tapi aku suka sekali dengan mereka. Mereka sama-sama mempunyai heartache, finding their selves despite sorrow yang mereka rasakan. Nilai-nilai keluarga, friendship dan relationship-nya pun okay. Slow burn tapi tidak membuat kamu merasa bosan. Intinya, suka. ( ) This was one of the best books I’ve read in quite some time. It almost made having COVID good because I was able to read the entire book without that nasty thing called work. The story was great and well written. I like the way it went back and forth between time and characters. The characters were very great and likable. The entire book keep your interest and I really didn’t put it down. The story starts in France with Soline Roussel the dressmaker and ends in Boston with a lot of things in between. There is love, loss, war, secrets and learning to forgive. I highly recommend this book. I’m glad my book club picked it out. Not certain about reviewing "The Keeper of Happy Endings" by Barbara Davis here, though probably about two thirds of the story is set in 1985. The story is built upon the theme of love and loss and second chances, ultimately bringing together three women who reawaken to their on strength and potential. I found this painful reading at times, between the Gestapo in Europe and a cruel, controlling, and destructive man in the U.S. Sense ressenyes | afegeix-hi una ressenya
The friendship between Rory Grant and Soline Roussel brings back memories of Soline's family's Paris bridal salon and their losses during World War II, both material and emotional. No s'han trobat descripcions de biblioteca. |
