Juliy Kim

Soviet and Russian poet , composer , playwright , screenwriter , singer , member of the dissident movement in the USSR, laureate of literary and music awards. At student teacher's college Yuliy Kim began writing songs based on his poetry and perfomed them, accompanying himself on the seven-string "gypsy" guitar. His first concerts swept over Moscow in the early 1960s, and the young author entered the circle of the most popular Russian bards.

Since 1968, he became a professional engaged in writing songs, plays and cinema scripts. As a member of the dissident movement, for a long time he appeared in the credits of films and posters of performances under the pseudonym Yu. Mikhailov.
His songs include one about the life and imprisonment of his father-in-law.
