If you the reviews I’ve written since 9/1/2018, you’ll find that 107 of the 234 [about 45.7%] have been for Christian books. Each time I’ve reviewed a devotional book, they’ve always been for a specific group of individuals; they been for single women, single/married mothers, people who were feeling hopeless, etc. In other words, individuals seeking guidance from the Lord so they could be helped from their situations and perhaps even sinners seeking to gain the salvation they desperately needed.

While it’s wonderful that the authors writing these devotional books have written in order to help their Christian sisters and brothers gain a sense of the Lord being there for them and that He’s giving them the guidance they’re seeking; ordinary Christian believers and faithful seem to have been tossed to the wayside and unfortunately been forgotten about.

In the description for this book, the author, Tim Leiphart, reminds readers that the Lord lived in the real world; he sat in the dirt with beggars, walked along the road with tax collectors, sailed with fishermen, talked with women and children, and ate with sinners. He loved people where they were because … that's where they were.

Mr. Leiphart in writing this book wants to remind his readers that the Lord is always there for them, and that they’re not forgotten about:

PSALM 37:4 [ESV]
Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

In each of the date specific devotions Mr. Leiphart has written for an entire year, he starts off with a scriptural verse followed by an inspiring commentary concerning a real-life situation which is designed to connect his readers with the Lord, and the Lord with them.

Hopefully, in reading this book, the author’s readers will be able to stand up and proclaim the Lord’s greatest, by possibly singing the How Great Thou Art hymn:

Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works thy hand hath made,
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed;

Refrain:
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!...

For wanting this for his readers, as a reviewer of Christian book, there’s no way I can’t give Mr. Leiphart the 5 STARS he so richly deserves. AMEN

With all the Christian books I’ve read since 9/1/18 [98 of the last 224] I’ve gotten a desire to increase my knowledge and relationship with the Lord; which is probably why I’m reading/review so many Christian books.

Doesn’t the Book of Revelation, the last book of the Bible, deal with the unveiling of spiritual truth regarding it, amongst other things? Although, this might be essentially the case, there’s still quite a bit of biblical knowledge which is not discussed even in church, leaving believers left in a void. This is why, if one looks at the author’s purpose in writing this book, might consider it to be a sort of a Book of Revelation.

I believe, one of the most vivid examples of secrets being maintained, can be found in Chapter 1, where the author discusses, “Why does God allow pain and death?” If you scour through scripture, you’ll find that while the Lord confesses for being responsible for this occurring, that there’s explanation for it.

ISAIAH 45:7 [ESV]

“I form light and create darkness; I make well-being and create calamity; I am the LORD, who does all these things.”

When it comes to this item, and the others that the author, Tim Leiphart, discusses in this book, you’ll find that we’re like children desiring to have an explanation as to why things are the way they; and like parents, the church isn’t willing to come forth with the information we’re seeking.

There’s a popular non-scriptural proverb which states that it’s far better to light one candle than to curse the darkness. The darkness is our ignorance regarding the topics the author discusses in this book; and the light is being at least partially enlightened as to the truths regarding these things [secrets] being presented in the pages of this book which the church apparently wants to remain silent about.

For wanting to enlighten his reader’s knowledge regarding the topics in this book, and for wanting to uplift their faith, as a reviewer of Christian books, I’m glad to give Mr. Leiphart the 5 STARS he’s gotten from me.
