So any book on Ghalib's _shakhsiat_ is very welcome.
The book explores Ghalib's work and his times in 5 parts: his letters, his relations with the British, the (tragic) time in which he lived in Delhi, his Persian poetry, and his Urdu poetry.
The authors clearly prefer to view Ghalib as a humanist, but dive deep in to his theological works as well, some of which were a revelation for me.
It's a compilation of papers, so reads somewhat disjointed and without a theme and purpose.
Besides the last chapter, there was a fair bit of new insight and information for me.
