Excellent book, though he misses the point on feminist backlash to Dawkins and other backlash to Bill Maher. The issue is more that people in positions of power and privilege are leading the conversation, rather than following the lead of persons in that group with the same view. Even so, this book does a marvelous job of articulating the author's views, and he does weave in some feminist perspectives throughout.

I learned an incredible amount from reading this book. Great to read something about Islam as a culture and a religion from someone who was/is an insider but does so with a non-religious perspective. Highly recommended!
