I don't like cheating at all but I will read books that are trying to recover from cheating.
I think the problem with this book is although the ex-husband, at the start of the book is devastated over what he has done to his marriage, we then have flashbacks to events that led to it.
This is difficult to do it you want the reader to be sympathetic towards the cheater. I found it hard to read in detail his actions. At one point he is even comparing the sex with his ex to his current girlfriend.
It's not even like he is high on drugs when he's seeing her, he is starting a new life with her.
He is a changed man during this self destruct time due to drugs but still it was not an enjoyable read for me.
Not what I was hoping for.
After the way he treats her I found reconciliation with his wife or his treatment of people he supposedly loved too much.
At 50% we change to totally present time and how they are coping post divorce. When she does see him she does tell him straight how he made her feel, she does not hold back but I just don't think you would ever trust him again. I suppose forgiveness for this sort of thing is different for everyone but too much detail with the beloved ' Rach' for me.… (més)
