"Joseph-Beth Booksellers, an independent chain that opened at SouthPark Mall in 2005, announced Thursday it's shutting its doors by the end of the month. Borders, open since 1993 at the nearby Morrocroft Village shopping center, will close Jan.7."

I was completely crushed by this news. I once frequently made shopping expeditions to Charlotte (50miles one way) just to hit these two stores.

Someone told me that Joseph Beth's inventory was handled by the wholesaler Ingram Book Company. If that's the case they probably would just take the inventory back.
