Was it right to treat Sean and Michelle as suspects?

Everyone is a suspect until they're not. They were there...they were the first on the scene...they knew the dead man...Sean had a personal relationship with him... sure they would be suspects.

I couldn't believe that Sean and Michelle were surprised that they were suspects, they should both know the routine: you find the body, you're immediately suspect.

They were obvious suspects because of the circumstances.

I agree with all the responses.

Me too. It would have been poor police work if they weren't suspects at the start of the investigation.

What became rather annoying was when they continued to treat that like suspects.

Initially, everybody is a suspect. But that should not be a reason for hassle. Like checking on the gun is ok - but why should there be a need to keep it once it was established it had not been fired and that she had a permit.

>8 sushicat: Just another power play. He probably wanted to see if she would become belligerent with him and give him an excuse to hassle her more. The test even showed there was no gunshot residue on their hands so he was so WAY out of line.

>2 Carol420: I agree but Murdock should have gotten past that when everything seemed to check out. At this point it's simply becoming a jurisdiction p*ssing contest.

I agree they had to be treated as suspects but think it was taken too far.
