DNF, bailed at 20%. I just don't buy that this high-power corporate lawyer guy is so undone by the hookup who turns out to be the new hire. It's tiring trying to suspend my own disbelief. That's supposed to be the author's job.

There's a lot about this book that makes you laugh or spit take. Scenes where the main character is a bossy asshole, the weird description of things such as pubes. But as for the rest... it's a pretty solid book with consent(always need that) and a rich angle.

Alec is rich, has a rich dad, and is very gay. Upon a slip up as a kid he is beaten and physically scarred by his father who shames him and calls him disgusting. After the experience, he locks himself in the closet so he will never be hurt that way again.

Ed is so far out he might as well be in space waving his flag, and no one's going to stop him. He's a charmer who I kept reading as overweight or bigger in build despite that being highly unlikely.

Their chemistry is a mess. Sassy. Angsty. Problematic in the dynamic, and just all around bratty. It's like they're people, albeit both stubborn jerks who tease one another and do their best to remind the other of the fact they are boss and worker. The power dynamic is minimum-ly pushed and not abused. Which is a relief!
