The Piper Sisters #1
When I began reading I had no sympathy for Paige and wondered how she could be the female lead of any story – how could any man want a Barbie-Stepford Wife wannabe? Well, as I read Paige was explained and she grew and became oh so much more than she seemed in the beginning. Alex, the male lead in the story was gruff and tough and joyless…or so it seemed at first. He, too, grew and became as the story unfolded. They definitely were good in the story and good for one another. I liked them more and more as the book progressed and was rooting for them to have a HEA.
This is a story of family and community, of finding one’s strengths and playing to them, of coming to terms with the past in order to move forward in life and…it is a story of finding love when unexpected.
I have never read a book by this author but do look forward to reading the next book in the series because I REALLY want to know more about Hope and Gracie. Spinning Hills, Ohio sounds quirky and fun – I see online that there is a previous series written in this town that I have not read and wonder if I will be able to get my hands on those books, too.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the copy of this story. This is my honest review.
