Descripció:: This is the academic library of McDaniel College, founded in 1868 as Western Maryland College. It is an official federal government documents depository.

The library began with about 2,500 volumes, most of them from the personal library of college founder James T. Ward. In 1962 the library moved into its own building, and in 1975 it was named in honor of Dr. Samuel and Elsie Hoover. The current library building was dedicated in 1991. It holds 800,000 volumes, subscribes to about 60 databases and 20,000 electronic journals, and provides a computer lab and other resources.
